Open Sept – March

The pheasant hunting season begins at Circle H Ranch in September and ends in March. Although fall is the most popular time, the late season provides some excellent hunting and challenging shooting.

Shuttle Transportation

Transportation in the field is by specially designed and converted all-wheel drive buses. In early season, warm weather hunters sometimes prefer our open-air trailers built specifically for this purpose. In most cases, your group will be able to hunt separately with a friendly, knowledgeable guide and dogs assigned exclusively to your group.

Bird Processing & Packaging

Your birds will be expertly cleaned, processed, frozen, and securely packaged to preserve freshness for your journey home.

Hunting Dogs & Kennels

Circle H Ranch has eager and well-trained dogs to provide hunting enjoyment and to assist in locating and retrieving your game. Your field guide will work the dogs. You are welcome to bring your own dogs, provided they are reasonably trained and kept in our clean, comfortable, private kennels.

Circle H Ranch has two dog kennel buildings with electric heat. Each dog has their own individual sleeping area and kennel run.

Guest dogs stay in our guest kennel located just a few steps from the lodge. It provides a quiet, comfortable place for your dog to rest after a hard day in the field.

Discounts for Kids & Teens – 30% Off

Children 18 years and younger are 30% off full price with a hunting adult. The family discount applies only to the full service hunt, not the limited service hunt.

Resident and nonresident, ages 12 (or turning 12 by December 31 of current year) through 17, and who possess a valid hunter safety certificate and small game license are eligible to hunt in South Dakota. To obtain a small game license at the Ranch, these young hunters will need to provide their hunter safety number and the last four digits of their social security number.

Deposit

A fifty percent (50%) deposit is required to hold your date with the balance due upon arrival. Sales tax will be added to all fees. Seventy-five percent (75%) of your deposit will be refunded if you cancel 90 days prior to your arrival date, fifty percent (50%) if cancellation is made 60 days prior to your arrival date. Deposit will be forfeited on all hunts cancelled beyond that time. Deposits accepted through Visa and Mastercard.
